We've got a lot to catch up about, but first, you wanna hear new songs? I'm on the radio on Monday 5th August. That's TODAY.
Made in Kent Radio, 1:15pm-ish with a LIVE ACOUSTIC SET for twenty minutes - 3 brand new, my eldest, and a song I just like - plus a chat after. Featuring and introducing one of 'The Fiestas', Reece Bailey on the bass!
It coincides with lunch break for you publics and is after wake-up time for you fellow musicians, so by all means tune in, but if ya miss it it'll be on playback: https://www.madeinkent.co.uk/
Funny how these things materialise. The fellas at Made In Kent introduced me to the stage at Danson Fireworks 2022 to 23,000 lovely people. We hit it off immediately and there were talks of featuring on the air. With my business head powering through adrenaline mode, I propose when I've something to plug of my own creative existence. Which seemed imminent at the time, but life happens while you're busy making other plans.
Now the album's done, the band is gathered, and I'm so happy with how it's going, but I'll admit the gravity of "doing it right" has overwhelmed me a bit. With a dire need of pulling my finger out but daunted by finding the means to do so, at a pub the other night I serendipitously bumped into them!
Anyway they're launching a new station at Bluewater and asked if I'd do a set to mark the occasion. Wonderful stuff. So tune in at 1:15pm, or catch up after. And if you're nearby you can catch the performance in person! By or above the food court I think?
What else has been happening? A birthday in Ireland with Nine Below Zero, with Canned Heat's rider as dinner. An acoustic gig with the legendary Matt Molotov last month. Two stadium shows - Welling, but still. And plenty of other amazing do's with plenty of other amazing people. I'll tell you all about it, but for now, let me give you a glimpse of what I've been hiding.
See you on the radio. thanks to the lovely Kay Janet for the photos x
